Saskatchewan in motion’s goal is to get more kids more active more often.
That from Branden Branscombe, community development specialist with the organization who says to help with that, they have released an Adventure Calendar with new suggestions for outdoor activities every day. He explains that parents are always looking to ‘Saskatchewan in motion’ for ideas, and with many families sticking close to home this summer, and fewer organized activities to choose from, they decided to rustle up some suggestions. Branscombe says kids need to move at least 60 minutes a day.
For those who are stuck to their screens, Branscombe suggests starting off by swapping 30 minutes in front of a screen for 30 minutes outside.
There are ideas on the online calendar for singular and small group activities, ideas that use limited equipment, activities that will give mom and dad a break and inside suggestions for those rainy days.
