A part of Circle Drive that has seen four fatal collisions in recent years is one step closer to having some kind of barrier installed. Since 2016, three cross-median collisions between College Drive and Attridge Drive have involved a fatality.
On Monday, the City’s transportation committee reviewed and unanimously approved a report from City administration recommending that a barrier be erected for that stretch of Circle Drive.
Ward 3 Councillor, David Kirton asked administration to compile the report last year after an accident claimed the life of a 24 year-old woman in January of 2021.
The matter will come before City Council later this month for final approval. If approved then, the project will be added to the transportation list for future prioritization.
