Here’s a chance for you to spend time outdoors, get active on a Meewasin Trail, improve your mental health, and support the Meewasin Valley Authority and the Canadian Mental Health Association at the same time. Saskatoon mental health professional Frances Sreedhar has personal experience with reaping the mental and physical benefits of walking along the South Saskatchewan River. Now, she wants to share that experience and those benefits with others. Her goal is to hit one million steps on the Meewasin Trail by March 31st.
She began this journey about a year ago. Her goal is to raise one cent per step. That would amount to $10 thousand for both of these organizations.
Sreedhar is encouraging others to get out on the trail, to set and track an activity goal, and to gather donations and direct them to her initiative using #MillionStepsForMentalHealth or, donate to the organizations directly.
If you would like to get involved, please visit the Meewasin Website and/or the CMHA Saskatoon website. Please use the hashtag #MillionStepsForMentalHealth in the message box to support Frances on this amazing initiative! Find more ways to get involved on the initiative’s page.
