A Saskatoon artist has become one of a select group worldwide to have the honour of producing works for the Disney Fine Art Collection.
Denyse Klette is also the first Canadian to have signed on with Collectors Editions, the exclusive global publisher of the Disney Fine Art portfolio. She describes her work as whimsical and expects she was chosen because of her unique blending of sculpture on canvas. Klette explains that the edges around her Disney paintings are sculpted to become three-dimensional. For example, she has a painting based on the movie Frozen that has sculpted snow-covered fir trees around the edges.
The official announcement and opening of her art show was supposed to have happened last year.
Klette found out on December 5th of 2019, coincidentally also Walt Disney’s birthday, that she had been accepted into the group. The grand opening of her art show was to be last March, but that week the World Health Organization officially declared a pandemic, and the day of her opening was the day Disney World closed.
