A COVID-19 variant of concern is being investigated at a Greater Saskatoon Catholic School Division school.
On Friday, officials from the Saskatchewan Health Authority informed the GSCS of a positive COVID-19 case in an individual at St. Augustine School in Humboldt, that is being investigated as a variant of concern. GSCS says it are working with Public Health to notify parents and caregivers and the SHA is recommending that all close contacts get tested. Risk of exposure for anyone not considered a close contact remains low.
On Saturday GSCS reports another two positive COVID-19 cases in individuals at E.D. Feehan Catholic High School were brought to their attention by the SHA. Once again risk of exposure for anyone not considered a close contact remains low, but it is recommended close contacts get tested.
GSCS says all affected cohorts and will switch to online learning.
