According to Tuesday’s information on the Government of Saskatchewan’s COVID-19 dashboard, new cases of the novel coronavirus in the province are down for a third straight day, active cases have decreased for a second successive day and the total number of COVID-19-related deaths in Saskatchewan remains at 578 for an eighth consecutive day.
The latest update showed 24 new cases, with 49 recoveries, leaving 449 active cases of the virus. Of those active cases, 58 people are in hospital with 10 of the infections being treated in an I-C-U. The seven-day average of new cases is at 48 while 574 of 775 doses of vaccine administered on Monday were second shots.

- As of August 3rd , there are 24 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 50,120 reported cases.
- The new cases are located in the Far North West (2), Far North East (4), North West (1), North Central (7), Saskatoon (4), South West (3), South East (2) zones and one (1) new case has pending residence information.
- Three (3) cases with pending locations were assigned to the Far North East (from July 1 (3)) zone.

- 12,946 of the cases are individuals in the 19 and under age category; all others are adults, with 50.1% of the cases males and 49.6% females.
- 4% (1,883) of cases are travel-related, 61% (30,700) are contacts to known cases or involved in mass gathering(s), 27% (13,389) have no known exposures and 8% (4,148) are under investigation by local public health.
- 2,562 cases are healthcare workers, although the source of their infections may not be health care related.
- As of August 3rd, a total of 58 individuals are hospitalized; including 48 inpatient hospitalizations and 10 ICU hospitalizations.
- No (0) new deaths reported today. 578 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 1.2%.
- 965,423 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of July 30, 2021 when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 810,744 tests performed per million. The national rate was 1,012,146 tests performed per million.
- The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case number was 48 (4.0 new cases per 100,000).
