It’s going to be a roller coaster type of weekend in the Saskatoon area when it comes the weather.
Saturday is set to see snow, but nothing too significant according to Terri Lang, a meteorologist with Environment Canada.
“Over the weekend, we’ll kind of see the snow return. We’re not expecting a lot of amounts, just enough to be kind of annoying, I think. Then on Sunday, we get on the warm side of that jet stream again, temperatures just sneaking over the zero degree mark, so we might actually see some rain and freezing rain along with some snow before the winds switch around again.”
Regina is also going to see a similar forecast.
“The way the jet stream is, it’s kind of sitting from northwest to southeast so it kind of runs along Highway 11. Very similar with on and off with the snow and the possibility of some rain on Sunday as well.”
About 2cm of snow is expected for the Saskatoon area on Saturday with a high of minus 11. Sunday is calling for a high of plus two and rain. Monday will see periods of snow and a high of minus 16.
Prince Albert’s forecast is calling for snow on Saturday with a high of minus 15. Sunday periods of snow with a high of minus 7 and Monday clearing with a high of minus 18.
