President Volodymir Zelenskyy in his address to Canadian parliament this morning (tues) asked the MPs to imagine waking up to their homes, their country’s capital – Ottawa, their country’s landmarks, perhaps the CN Tower, being bombed.
He was speaking via video conference through an interpreter again appealing to ally countries to enforce a no-fly zone.
“On 4 am each of you, you start hearing bomb explosions, severe explosion. Justin, can you imagine hearing, you, your children, hear all these severe explosions. Bombing of airport, bombing of Ottawa airport.”
Zelenskyy again stated the attack is nothing more than an attempt to wipe out his country, and the Ukrainian people.
Meanwhile, NATO has commenced Exercise Hunter 22 as part of NATO’s enhanced presence battlegroup in Poland, training with the Allies, using anti tank weapons.
And the Russian Ambassador to the United Nations said today (tues) Russia’s invasion of Ukraine would only stop “when goals of special military operation are achieved.”
Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia said a negotiated cease-fire would take place when conditions put forward by Russia are implemented. The conditions included “demilitarization of Ukraine, densification of Ukraine. No threat which comes from the territory to Russia. No joining NATO.”
President Zelenskyy’s address to parliament was greeted by a standing ovation in the House of Commons.
