Saskatoon police say the victim in a shooting last Thursday is 29-year-old Brandon Baxandall and one person has been arrested in connection to the homicide investigation.
A 35 year old man is charged with First Degree Murder and will appear in court today (tues).
On Thursday at 4:30 p.m. police were called to a report of an injured man in the 100 block of Main Street East in Saskatoon’s Nutana neighbourhood. Shortly after that more calls came in to police of shots fired 11 blocks away in the 700 block of Melrose Avenue and when officers arrived they found a deceased man behind an apartment building. In addition, another injured male was taken to City Hospital.
Residents living in the area enclosed by Saskatchewan Crescent East, Victoria Avenue, Main Street and the Idylwyld Drive Freeway who has security cameras, was asked last week to review their footage from between 4 and 5 Thursday afternoon for signs of suspicious activity. Police do not believe there is a continued risk to public safety.
