The Saskatchewan Roughriders released their roster and depth chart Friday morning for Saturday’s opening game for them and Hamilton at Mosaic Stadium in Regina.
While Jamal Morrow is listed as the starting running back ahead of Frankie Hickson, Green and White head coach Craig Dickenson said Thursday that both would be in the mix in two different respects…..
The Riders will, of course, start Cody Fajardo at quarterback with the seven Canadian starters being Dan Clark at centre, Logan Ferland and Evan Johnson as the guards, Kian Schaffer-Baker and Justin McInnis as receivers, Mike Edem at safety and U of S grad Nelson Lokombo at cornerback. Lokombo was the team’s first round C-F-L Canadian Draft pick in 2021 while 2022 first rounder Samuel Emilus starts the season on the one-game injured list. So does third quarterback Jake Dolegala and six others with another four players on the six-game I-L…receiver Kyran Moore, linebackers Micah Teitz and Gary Johnson Junior plus defensive back Godfrey Onyeka. First kick-off Saturday is 5 o’clock.
