The Saskatoon Police Service have charged a person of interest in the city’s tenth homicide of the year. Thursday morning around 11:30, officers were flagged down around 21st Street West and Avenue W South by occupants of a minivan transporting a 21 year old man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead.
Two persons of interest were identified as 31 year old Reagan Opoonechaw and 24 year old Kasseigh Opoonechaw and another person who was later identified as 18 year old Zennen Thomas. He was considered a person of interest but is now charged with second degree murder. There is a warrant for his arrest. Police advise not to approach him and instead call the police if you see him.
Anyone with information about Reagan or Kasseigh Opoonechaw are also asked to contact the police.
