One person has been injured after a gas explosion in Ottawa.
Ottawa Fire Services say the explosion has “taken out” multiple houses under construction in Ottawa.
Fire officials say the blast happened just after 7 a-m in the suburb of Orleans.
Firefighters used chainsaws to cut through the wreckage to rescue one person who was described as being in stable condition and talking.
Ottawa paramedics say they were treating eight people and one person was taken to hospital.
