Participants will be getting their steps in Sunday morning, with the MS Canada 5 kilometre walk in support of multiple sclerosis.
Joni Strayker from Saskatoon was diagnosed in 2017. She says the statistics are eye-opening. One in 400 Canadians are affected by MS. Over 90,000 people have been diagnosed with MS in Canada and 60 per cent are between the ages of 20 and 49, and 12 Canadians are diagnosed every day.
There are walks across the country, including in Saskatoon, Regina and Estevan and you can join through a virtual walk if you are in a community that doesn’t have an event organized. Check-in for the Saskatoon walk begins at 10 tomorrow at North Meewasin Park, with the opening ceremonies at 11.
