They have yet to play a game in the Western Canadian Baseball League, but the Saskatoon Berries have put together the Saskatoon Berries Academy for young, local prospective ballplayers to combine the sport with schooling.
About 80 parents attended Wednesday night’s information session at SaskTel Centre. The Academy will run from September through the end of April with flexible school hours that allow students to train for baseball a few hours each day.
