A 58-year-old man from Regina was declared deceased at the scene of the collision of two semi-trailer units on Highway #11 early Wednesday morning a few kilometres north of Bladworth.
In a news release, Saskatoon RCMP say the driver and passenger in the other semi were taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.
Video sent to our newsroom showed, what seems to be, a north bound semi hauling what appeared to be large logs or power poles. It appeared to have crossed the median, crossed the southbound lanes and rolled in the southbound ditch. Another semi was jackknifed with what was described as severe damage to its cab. It had collided with the north bound semi.
The local fire department and EMS also responded to the accident. Saskatoon RCMP continues to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist. Bladworth is about 17 kilometres north of Davidson, which is roughly halfway between Saskatoon and Regina.
