The Prince Albert Police Service is looking for a suspect after responding to a call Monday afternoon where officers were told a male was attempting to stab someone with a machete at the intersection of 3rd Avenue East and 11th Street East. When they arrived, an injured male was found, who was treated on scene and then transported to hospital by ambulance with what are believed to be non life threatening injuries.

Police were able to view video surveillance of the assault and now have a picture from that video, which you can see with this story. Officers report the suspect struck the victim numerous times with a machete while trying to take his backpack. He was wearing a black winter jacket, grey hoodie over his head, black hat, boots and pants with yellow work gloves. Anyone with information is asked to contact Prince Albert Police or leave an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
