Saskatoon Police used a conducted energy weapon to arrest a 27-year-old man on the 800 block of Idylwyld Drive near the Freeway Bridge.
Officers received a report that around 9:30pm Sunday, a man was seen with a firearm. The man fled after spotting police, but was later arrested. Police report finding a CO2 firearm. The man has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon and breach of court-imposed conditions
Going back to Saturday morning, there were two stabbings in different parts of the city. The first one happened around 9 o’clock near the weir at 33rd Street and Spadina Crescent East. A 37 -year-old man was robbed of his cell phone and went to hospital to be treated for a stab wound. About two hours later, there was a stabling on 33rd Street by Avenue W. A 26-year-old man was attacked by three people in a back alley. No arrests have been made in either stabbing.
Aa pair of 16-year-olds were arrested at 22nd Street East and First Avenue around 11:30pm. Eyewitnesses report a fight between three people including one with a gun. All three were arrested, but one person was later released. Police seized an imitation firearm and bear spray.
