“Thank you isn’t enough. It was a bit of an emotional day seeing these great men and women leave our lot but, at the same time, a relief as we know that our communities are no longer under threat. We are forever grateful for the support from these municipal departments from all over Saskatchewan that answered the call. Safe travels to them as they make their way home today. Our LRRFD family grew significantly over the past week – be safe to each and everyone of you

-La Ronge Regional Fire Department as firefighters from other parts of the province, and the country, return home.
Thousands of wildfire evacuees are headed home this morning in Saskatchewan. Approximately seven-thousand residents in and around La Ronge, Air Ronge and the Lac La Ronge Indian Band were forced out of their communities by wildfire.
But a few days of rain and some extra staff and resources has eased the wildfire threat.
As of 8 a.m. Thursday there are 23 active wildfires in the province and six are not contained.
