Saskatoon Police responded around 7:30 a.m. in the morning to a home in the 300 block of Avenue R south where they found a 24-year-old woman suffering serious injuries. The woman said she woke up to four or five unknown women in her home, one of whom threatened her with a knife while another woman struck her with a machete.

About six hours later around 1:20 p.m. police were called to the 400 block of Avenue S South where a woman was in the street asking for help after being bear sprayed. She told officers that she had been in the 400 block of Avenue R South with a man when they were assaulted and robbed by unknown persons.
As they were taking her statement they received another call for service regarding the injured male. He was at a home on Avenue R South and reported he’d been outside when he was hit with a hammer and bear sprayed by the same people and then he was bitten by a large dog when he tried to escape by going inside the home. He was taken to hospital as well with non-life-threatening injuries.
