
The number of homicides RCMP responded to in the province are considerably lower than the same time last year.
From January 1 – July 15, 2025, Saskatchewan RCMP reported 13 homicide files with 13 victims in RCMP jurisdiction. This is down from 23 that were reported over the same period last year. Four of the 13 homicides that have occurred to date this year remain under investigation and the other nine have been solved.
Between January 1st and December 31st last year Saskatchewan RCMP reported 39 homicide files with 41 victims, making it the highest year on record for homicide files in RCMP jurisdiction in the province.
There were 26 per cent more homicide files and 32 per cent more homicide victims in 2024 than 2023. 2024 also marked the second-highest year on record for number of homicide victims in Saskatchewan RCMP jurisdiction.
Saskatchewan RCMP provides response and investigative support to other Saskatchewan police services which aren’t included in the current statistics.
