There was a grass fire late yesterday afternoon off Valley Road.
The call came in around 4:00 p.m. and arriving fire crews could see a large wildland fire on a property off Valley Road. Two Engines, two water tankers, two brush trucks and the Battalion Chief responded as well as Pike Lake and Delisle Fire Departments.
As of 8 p.m. last night the fire had been brought under control, and no one was hurt but at that time fire crews were remaining on scene. A heavy downpour this morning in the Saskatoon area undoubtedly helped extinguish the blaze.
