The driver of a City of Saskatoon Transit bus has been charged in connection to the hit and run of a pedestrian dating back to May.
It was a Sunday evening on May 18th when police responded to an injured person report in the 1900 block of 8th Street East. In a news release the Saskatoon Police Service says following an investigation by the Traffic Unit it has been determined the victim was struck by a city bus.
A 42-year-old man is charged with Fail to Stop after an Accident. A 49 year old man had been hit and was taken to hospital with serious injuries that were described as non-life-threatening.
The City of Saskatoon has issued a statement saying, “A Saskatoon Transit bus was involved in a collision with a pedestrian on May 18, 2025 at around 7:00 p.m. on the 1900 block of 8th Street East. Following an investigation, Saskatoon Police Service have charged the operator of the bus with Fail to Stop after an Accident. The employee was put on administrative leave shortly after the incident occurred while an internal investigation was carried out and no longer works for Saskatoon Transit.”
