Wadena RCMP attempted a traffic stop last Wednesday around 11 a.m. in Kylemore and say the man driving didn’t stop but instead pulled into a residential driveway. Police say he then would not comply with directions given to him by the RCMP officers.
Wadena RCMP arrested and searched both the man and his vehicle. They seized 97 grams of cocaine, 27 grams of crack cocaine and 7 grams of methamphetamine, brass knuckles and a semi-automatic handgun.
Thirty-seven-year-old Daniel McFarlane of Wadena is facing eight different charges involving drugs, weapons and resisting arrest.
Meanwhile two days later on August 8th around 6:15 a.m. RCMP received multiple reports of a possible impaired driver driving near the beach on Fishing Lake First Nation. The vehicle was located a short time later in Wadena where again, the driver wouldn’t comply with officers instructions and was arrested. The RCMP say they located two firearms, one of which was loaded, and several hundred rounds of ammunition during a search of the vehicle.
Thirty-nine-year-old Nathan Kayseas of Fishing Lake First Nation is charged with 17 offences, 13 of which are weapons related as well resist arrest and driving while impaired.
