That accident that shut down part of Highway 4 at Cochin yesterday evening was a single vehicle rollover involving an RCMP cruiser.
The call came in at 6:00 p.m. and RCMP say an on-duty RCMP officer with Battlefords Detachment was responding to a call for service in an unmarked police vehicle with emergency equipment activated when the rollover occurred. He was taken by ambulance to Saskatoon for treatment of serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
RCMP say the officer was attended to by a member of the public as well as Meota and District Volunteer Fire Department, North Battleford Fire Department, EMS and other Battlefords RCMP officers.
RCMP Collision Reconstruction attended the scene and continues to investigate. Highway #4 is now open.
In a news release Inspector Ryan How, Battlefords Detachment Commander said, “I want to recognize those who have extended gestures and words of kindness. These acts truly show the continued support we have from the communities we serve. Thank you.”
