Six Saskatchewan communities set record temperatures for August 28th on Thursday.
In the Buffalo Narrows area, temps Thursday rose to 31.8, surpassing the old record of 29.5 set in 1996. Records in this area have been kept since 1962.
In Collins Bay, heat reached 30.9 degrees. This is up from the old record of 28.6 set in 2012. Records here have been kept since 1972.
Temperatures rose to 29.9 in Key Lake, upending the previous record of 29.5 set in 1981, and Meadow Lake reached 31.6 degrees yesterday, up from a record of 31.2 set in 1996.
Records in this area have been kept since 1959.
Nipawin reached a high of 31.7, just surpassing the 31.6 record set in 1981. Records in this area have been kept since 1927. And lastly in the Stony Rapids region, it was 33.2 degrees Thursday, up from 29.3 degrees set in 2012. Records in this area have been kept since 1960.
