An investigation is underway following the discharge of a firearm by a police officer yesterday in Regina.
At approximately 3:35 p.m., officers were conducting an investigation in the 1400 block of Cameron Street when an officer was reportedly attacked by an unleashed dog in a back alley. In response, the officer discharged their firearm, fatally wounding the animal.
The officer sustained minor injuries during the incident and was treated at hospital before being released.
Police say the investigation is ongoing, and no further details are being released at this time.
