The Prince Albert Police Service says its officers responded to 10 reported armed robberies and attempted car jackings between August 29th and September 4th. There were also two other incidents that took place in RCMP jurisdiction in the same time frame.
Four people have been arrested and charged including 28-year-old Jordan Kerfoot, 26-year-old Scott McCallum, 26-year-old William Charles Hunt and Mary Rose Daigneault.
Acknowledging that recent incidents have had a significant impact on the sense of safety in the community, in a news release, Prince Albert Chief of Police, Patrick Nogier says, “Those who choose to engage in violence and intimidation will be held accountable.”
At this stage, charges have been laid in four Prince Albert files connected to three carjacking-style robberies and one aggravated assault investigation in which a firearm was discharged at a victim. RCMP have also laid charges in one related robbery investigation.
