Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning for an area from north of Regina to Nipawin where rainfall amounts are expected to be 50 to 60 millimetres for areas under a warning while 30 to 40 mm is expected in surrounding areas including Regina.
Rain will transition to snow this evening before tapering off Monday morning and, in addition, strong winds gusting 60 to 80 kilometres per hour are expected this afternoon. Environment Canada says higher terrain may just see snow from the outset and winter conditions are possible while there could be localized flooding in low lying areas.
An area of northeast Saskatchewan including Candle Lake and Narrow Hills Provincial Parks where heavy snowfall with blowing snow is expected tonight with total amounts of 15 to 30 centimetres by Monday afternoon. However, the system will start as rain with 10 to 30 millimetres by this evening when it will transition to snow.
