Saskatoon Police have charged one man in connection to several collisions on Wednesday evening that occurred in quick succession of each other.
Shortly before 7:00 p.m. police responded to a hit and run in the 200 block of 33rd Street east where it was reported a vehicle was being driven at high speeds. Within minutes police were notified of another hit and run near 33rd Street West and Avenue J North where again the vehicle was described as having been driven at excessive speeds.
Moments later, police received a report of an accident at the intersection of Avenue P North and 29th Street West. As officers were attending to multiple scenes, police received a report of a suspicious person at the door of a home in the 400 block of Avenue P North where the person’s description matched the description of the driver involved in the earlier accidents.
Officers attended to the area and located the suspect near Avenue P North and Rusholme Road; he was arrested without incident. Further investigation determined that he was believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant.
A 35-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, hit and run, and refusal of a demand.
