Saskatoon Police Service says officers responded to a robbery-in-progress in a motel parking lot in the 100 block of Circle Drive West.
The call came in around 5:15 p.m. after a caller reporter seeing a female passenger physically assault a taxi driver and trying to steal the taxi. After the altercation the witness said the woman got in the driver’s seat and while trying to flee the scene, hit the taxi driver. Both the taxi driver and reported suspect had left the scene when police arrived.
However, the victim, a 75-year-old-man, returned to the scene and police say he did not have serious physical injuries.
A female matching the suspect description was located in the 2000 block of Avenue B North. A 30-year-old woman is charged with Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, Dangerous Driving, Obstruction, and breach of court-imposed conditions.
