After showing up at Royal University Hospital’s emergency department with a painful infection, a Saskatoon cancer patient says he was left in a hallway for six days next to a pile of dirty laundry.

Lloyd Coakwell recounts that what he experienced was both unacceptable and heartbreaking, taking a toll on his physical, mental, and emotional health.

The NDP is sharing his story to draw attention to the overcrowding being faced at RUH. A release from the Opposition says it has been several weeks since 450 RUH healthcare workers urged the provincial government to do something about the unfit conditions inside the hospital.
