According to the latest Community Respiratory Illness Surveillance Program (CRISP) Situation Report, COVID-19 test positivity has increased in the past 4 weeks from 7.3 per cent to 8.3 per cent in the week leading up to November 1st. Over 63 per cent of cases in the current week were seniors aged 65 or older.
RSV test positivity also rose from 0.1 to 1.4 per cent. All cases of RSV were in children under 5. Influenza test positivity rose from 0.7 to 3.6 per cent in the period, with over a third of cases occurring in the 20-64 age group.
There were no Influenza or COVID-19 deaths in the report.
The number of COVID hospitalizations decreased compared to the last two week reporting period from 49 to 38. The number of ICU cases remained stable. The number of Influenza hospitalizations increased from 2 to 7. There were no ICU admissions for Influenza.
