The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a car versus building accident at 1:51 a.m. Friday.

It was Zak’s Home Hardware on Central Avenue in Sutherland. There was significant damage to the building, and no occupants were found inside the vehicle or the store. Fire crews also checked the building for possible collapse.

The owners of Zak’s Home Hardware have posted on social media that the driver and passenger fled the scene. And despite the considerable damage the store will be open at 8 a.m. as usual for business.
