Around noon on Monday Saskatoon RCMP responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway #41 approximately 10 kilometres north of Saskatoon.
A car and semi collided. The sole occupant of the car was declared deceased at the scene; the semi driver wasn’t hurt. The victim is an 83-year-old man from Saskatoon. Highway #41 was temporarily closed but has re-opened.
A few hours earlier, around 10:15 a.m. Maple Creek RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of two grid roads in the R.M. of Reno. Two pick-ups had collided and the driver of one of the trucks, a 71-year-old man from Maple Creek was declared deceased at the scene. A passenger in that vehicle and the driver of the other truck were both taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both accidents remain under investigation with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
