The Saskatoon Police Service says a lengthy and complex fraud investigation by their Economic Crime Section has resulted in charges being laid against a 53-year-old woman from Cudworth.
On June 19th – just this past summer, Saskatoon Police responded to a report of fraud at a Saskatoon business where the owners believed they had been defrauded of large sums of money by an employee providing bookkeeping services.
Further investigation found that approximately $340,000 had been misappropriated from business accounts which police allege was used for the accused’s personal expenses and significant purchases, including a Ford F-150.
The 53-year-old Cudworth woman is now facing charges of Fraud Over $5000 and Trafficking in Proceeds of Crime Over $5000. She is back in Saskatoon Provincial Court January 28th.
