After two weeks of being unable to fully utilize their water supply, the residents of Outlook can now return to normal.
On December 15 at 9:30 a.m., a routine maintenance check led to the discovery of a broken lock and an open hatch at the treated water reservoir. A DO NOT USE order was immediately enacted, and a state of emergency was declared in the event someone had put contaminants into the water reservoir.
After several setbacks, such as the blizzard which hammered the province that same week, the drainage and sanitation processes were able to be complete.
An RCMP investigation is still underway.
