The Saskatoon Police Service is kicking off the near year by implementing Mandatory Alcohol Screening to reduce impaired driving in the city.
Beginning January 1, officers conducting traffic stops may require or. lawfully demand, a driver to provide a roadside breath sample into an approved screening device, without requiring suspicion of impairment. This process is designed to be brief.
A release from the Police Service says this authority has been implemented by other police services across the province.
