A man on the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Top 10 Wanted list was arrested after police allege two people were taken against their will at gunpoint.
La Ronge RCMP received a report about the incident which took place on January 6th – last Tuesday. In a news release police say two adult individuals were at a home in Sucker River when they were forced into a vehicle by an armed man who RCMP say threatened and assaulted them. The victims were able to escape and did not report physical injuries to police.
A suspect was arrested last Wednesday and 35-year-old Cory Halkett from La Ronge is charged with 16 offences including robbery and kidnapping with a firearm. Halkett is in court on Thursday, and he has been removed from the Top 10 Wanted Persons list.
