There has been a recall for No Name brand beef burgers in the 1.36 kilogram box. The affected product is being recalled from the marketplace due to possible E. coli contamination.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency advises that if you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, contact your healthcare provider. The CFIA also advises to not consume, serve, use, sell, or distribute recalled products and the recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased.
This recall was triggered by Canadian Food Inspection Agency test results. The CFIA says there have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
Food contaminated with E. coli O157:H7 may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, mild to severe abdominal cramps and watery to bloody diarrhea. In severe cases of illness, some people may have seizures or strokes, need blood transfusions and kidney dialysis or live with permanent kidney damage. In severe cases of illness, people may die.
