It’s great news for people in and around Assiniboia and Yorkton as Peavey Mart will be making a return in the spring!
They will be the first two Saskatchewan locations to return since Peavey Mart left Canada early last year.
Meagan Parisian, Peavey Mart’s Leader of Marketing and E-Commerce, says there will be a few differences between the new stores and their predecessors.
“The aisles are wider and we’ve focused our assortment down to about two-thirds of what we would have had previously. That means we can be a lot more intentional about providing the high standard and high value products that our customers look for, while also being able to provide a unique set of products that folks may not find anywhere else.”
Parisian says there were two main factors that went into choosing which Saskatchewan locations would re-open.
“One was in terms of location. Where are the most strategic locations for us to open stores in Saskatchewan? And the second one is access to infrastructure. The Assiniboia location was actually owned by one of the members of our ownership group, so that made it really easy to open.”
She adds that while the company cannot confirm if other Saskatchewan locations are returning, they are listening to all customers advocating for a store in their region.
“We are listening to every customer who has advocated for their region and for their community and we are actively considering all options in terms of where future stores may be located.”
While an official re-opening date has not been announced yet, the Saskatchewan stores are expected to open sometime in March.
