The Public Service Alliance of Canada is raising concerns over ongoing cuts to public service after 1775 workforce adjustment notices were issued to PSAC members across the federal public service in the past week. The latest cuts impact departments such as national statistics, IT infrastructure, and economic development.
PSAC says the cuts will have negative effects on services, such as delayed contracts, maintenance and procurement of goods and services, weakened cyber-security, and the delayed released of necessary data.
According to PSAC, 4610 members have received workforce adjustment notices since January of 2025. They add that this number does not include the thousands of term members whose contracts were ended early or not renewed.
