Saskatoon celebrated over $750 million in tourism-driven revenue in 2025.
CEO of Discover Saskatoon Steph Pocha says domestic spending is up 14 per cent from last year, international spending is up 12 per cent, and Saskatoon accounted for 20.7 per cent of all visitor spending in the province. This spending stemmed from 81 major events and conventions, hotel stays, restaurant visits, and cab trips.
Pocha says the city hosted 81 major events and conventions last year, 18 of which filled every hotel in the city.
“Just over 50,000 hotel room nights were contracted for the year,” she explains.
For example, she says the First Nations Energy and Resource Forum in May was one of the most successful events of the year.
“That represented about 700 people in our city, 1,300 room nights, and an estimated $1.1 million of economic impact.”
Skate Canada International also brought in 1400 people to Saskatoon, representing about 1200 room nights, and the economic impact there was $2.1 million.”
Looking ahead, Pocha says the Canadian Country Music Awards will bring upwards of 9000 people to Saskatoon in September, and the economic impact is going to be in the millions. Saskatoon is also hosting the Outskirts Music festival, an artistic swimming event at the Shaw Centre, and the PBR event.
Meanwhile, Tourism Regina celebrated over $135 million of economic impact in 2025, also up from 2024 levels.
