While St. Paul’s Hospital & Foundation celebrated the unveiling of the facility’s new entrance as well as major renovations to the visitor information, patient registration and protective services area, in addition to a new healing centre, more photos have surfaced of an array of weapons seized at the hospital.
The NDP says they were provided by representatives of workers at St. Paul’s Hospital. The images released Wednesday show knives of varying sizes, machetes, homemade shivs, pickaxes and multiple saws.
The NDP says an internal committee reporting to the Minister of Health recommended in 2024 that a metal detector be installed at St. Paul’s but the official opposition says it was another 415 days before any action was taken on that recommendation.
