The Saskatchewan Ministry of Health has issued an overdose drug alert after an increase in overdoses in the Punnichy area.

The Ministry says there have been five suspected overdoses reported since January 13th. That includes one fatality suspected to be caused by toxic drug overdose.

As well, naloxone was administered in multiple instances and one person needed medical intervention. Health officials suspect it was Fentanyl.

The alert will be in effect until February 4th.
