A Regina student attending Sask. Polytech’s Automotive Service Technician program says the CAA scholarship has been very helpful in purchasing the supplies he needed for school.
Jaxon Sandercock applied for numerous scholarships in his grade 12 year, and he was quite unsuspecting when he got the call from CAA to tell him he’d won the $1250 scholarship.
“I was with my brother, and I was rather hysterical,” he recounted. “That money is very nice to have when you’re trying to buy tools.”
He says his course is going really well, made better by great instructors and peers.
Following his schooling, Sandercock hopes to get hired, but doesn’t know if he wants to stick with automotive repair or switch to the aviation field.
“I’m not a massive plane nerd, but I’m up there,” he chuckled.
CAA also offers $2,500 scholarships to attend both the universities of Saskatchewan and Regina. Applications for the 2026 program are open between July 15 and September 15th.
