Prince Albert Mayor Bill Powalinsky says the Complex Needs Facility will provide a safe location for police to take individuals who are intoxicated or exhibiting dangerous behaviour.

A public information session is being held tomorrow for the Complex Needs Facility (CNF) being constructed in Prince Albert. He adds that the information session will help ease concerns and clear up misinformation about the CNF.
“There’s still a misunderstanding and apprehension over how this Complex Needs Facility is going to work. This is an opportunity for residents and people from any area of the city to come and hear, factually, how this is going to operate and what the impact will be on the community.”
Mayor Powalinsky says that while work on the CNF is being done by the provincial government, the city will help ensure the building meets all the needed requirements.
“Really the province is going to contract with a service provider. The zoning is consistent with the intended use; our building inspectors will make sure that the renovations are within the building code. I believe fully that the province and Sask Procurement that’s not going to be an issue.”
The information session will take place in the Prince Albert City Hall Foyer and will last from 5:30 to 7 pm. The Prince Albert CNF is expected to begin operating this summer. It will be located on 9th street east.
