Prince Albert RCMP are still looking for male and female suspects as part of a vehicle theft investigation in the Birch Hills area from the weekend.
On Saturday Prince Albert and Melfort RCMP began patrolling southeast of Prince Albert after being notified of a suspicious truck on Fenton Ferry Road.
Around 4:00 p.m. Melfort RCMP located a truck matching the suspicious vehicle’s description and attempted a traffic stop but the truck fled north on Highway #3.
Shortly after, the truck sped past Prince Albert RCMP officers also on Highway #3 then stopped in the middle of the highway blocking an oncoming SUV. The male and female in the suspect truck got out and forcefully removed the SUV driver from their vehicle then got into the SUV and sped away towards Birch Hills.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and Sunday the stolen SUV was found abandoned near Macdowall.
Prince Albert RCMP continue to investigate and are asking the public for their assistance.
