Speeding, driving while disqualified or unregistered, and failure to wear a seatbelt continue to be the main offences on Saskatoon roadways.
According to Inspector Tony Landry, the SPS Traffic Unit saw school zone speeding increase from 45 instances in 2024 to 177 last year, however that number is way lower than the 1701 offences ticketed in 2021.
Seatbelt violations were also up year-over-year, increasing from 761 to 811, and 1537 people were ticketed for driving while either disqualified or unregistered, down from 1895 in 2024.
Collisions totaled 5193 in 2025, a ten per cent increase from the 4724 recorded in 2024.
On the bright side, distracted driving is trending downward, at 1693 offences down from 1,785 in 2024 and 2585 in 2023.
Overall, the SPS issued 15,091 total traffic tickets in 2025, with three quarters of those being issued by Traffic Unit members.
