A 24-year-old Île-à-la-Crosse man is scheduled to appear in court on Monday following reports of an adult male armed with a firearm and a knife. 

On Thursday at 10:00 a.m., RCMP were called to the scene. Officers say investigation determined the male had threatened two people with both weapons, however they were not harmed.  

However, investigators also determined the man has assaulted an individual in the past, who reported non-life-threatening injuries to police. 

The suspect was located in a parked vehicle in Île-à-la-Crosse. A search of the vehicle produced the firearm, a machete, as well as other weapons.  

Now, Taza McCallum is facing 13 charges.
