“Welcome back Olsen and Harsanyi” was a better show on Wednesday than “Welcome back Kotter” would ever be to the Saskatoon Blades.

After both missed the previous nine Bridge City Bunch games due to injury, Hayden Harsanyi opened the scoring and Zach Olsen (pictured) notched two goals and chipped in an assist to give the Blue and Gold a 6-2 victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings before 3,510 fans at SaskTel Centre. The triumph means the Blades have yet to lose in regulation time in March, going 4-0-1. For a fourth straight game, Saskatoon held an opponent under 20 shots on goal, out-shooting the Wheaties 34-18. The two teams also split the season series, winning twice at home and in each others’ buildings. The Bridge City Bunch also got goals from Kazden Mathies, David Lewandowski and Elias Pul. Lewandowski added two assists for a three-point night, Mathies added a helper to his tally and defenceman Jack Kachkowski chipped in a pair of assists. The result means that there are still no first round playoff series match-ups set in the W-H-L going into the final weekend of regular-season play. In fact, only four of the 16 standing positions going into the post-season have been determined – Edmonton will be third in the Eastern Conference and Calgary fourth while Everett and Penticton will be first and second, respectively, in the Western Conference. The 34-25-7 Blades kept their faint hopes of a fifth place finish alive by trimming the 38-26-2 Wheaties. However, all it takes to lock Saskatoon into sixth place and Brandon into fifth is, either, a single point lost by the Bridge City Bunch or a point earned by the Wheat Kings. The Blue and Gold open a season-ending home-and-home series Friday night in Prince Albert while the Wheaties will be in Regina on Friday.
